Critical incident stress debriefing after adverse patient safety events.

Patients, clinicians, and organizations can experience negative consequences after medical errors. This article discusses the need for organizations to have processes in place to provide support for clinicians following an adverse event and describes a debriefing strategy informed by practice in other high-risk industries to promote staff recovery.
